Being a Tourist in Perth

I had the pleasure of showing my kiwi mate around Perth.
At first you think what is there to show her, Perth is boring.
I learnt alot about little old Perth:

• We don't have any wild Koala in WA.
• We have over 6 different chicken fast food places.
• Kings Park has some awesome walks to do.
• I love the south west no matter when im down there.
• The zoo is cool no matter what age you are.
• We have the best beaches in the world.

Thanks my Kiwi mate, loved every minute and miss your crazy accent. :)
 

Graffiti in Berlin

Graffiti, call it art or vandalism it is everywhere in Berlin.
It was there way of expressing freedom once the wall came down in 1989.

Some of these artist have become so famous around the world, some people have actually

chipped away at the concrete wall to steal the art work.

100% Design

I had the opportunity to see the London Design Festival
and do they know how to have a festival.
Things happening everyday and scattered through-out the city of London, eek i was excited and exhausted by the end of it :)
I was lucky enough to find a design enthusiast Hester B to drag along to the different places i picked out and got the chance to show her around some of my favourite spots in London.

Playing with my camera

I finally got to play with my Camera, I'm not as good at most as I'm a little slack in taking it with me and remembering the F', exposures. lighting etc...

I spotted this model in the making practicing his cat walk moves

Then I spotted my future dog, a Goodle. Golden Retriever crossed with a poodle

A friend of Moodle, Spoodle and Noodle.

Oh so soft and he kept following me around, I'm sure that was a good sign that I should get one.

Avon Fun Run

Traditionally it is called the Avon Descent, but this year the poor paddlers had to do a lot of running.

Fun to watch though

And even the early moring wake up was worth it when seeing the sun rise and the hot air balloons in the distance.

travel friends

Some of my 'now' favorite sites over the last few weeks have defiantly helped me with my travel plans.
What did we ever do with out Trip advisor?
We had our trusty Lonely planet, and we  took the risk and arrived at the destination and hoped for a place with a decent bed and shower. It does take the fun out of finding a place,
but the best stress relief when you know what to look forward.

Forget a Euro pass, this is the best site for cheap train ticket Bahn.com, you can book online and even print your ticket out, pity I'm a bit rusty on the old' German to read the ticket.

And there is even a site to tell you the best seat to site on the plane,
I'm always on the look out for extra leg room.

THanks Mr Internet for all your help... now to count down the days.

Travel

Ive been super busy the last few weeks trying to plan another trip. Yes I'm very blessed to be able to travel so much, but then this is my hobby. I don't collect old cars or buy expensive clothes, i just love organising and going on holidays, saving hard of course :).

Hubby and I are heading to the mother land...Holland for a real dutch wedding, well only for a few days, then rest is Europe.
So much to see but so little time. The plan so far  are Helsinki, Stockholm, south of France - Pyrenees (this is due to watching far to much of the tour de France), Holland, Berlin and London. Sounds like a lot but Europe is kinda small and flights are cheap.

My little head is hurting, looking up way too many website, trying to understand French, German and booking the right flight on the right date.

Soup - Winner

Soup on a winters day, yummo.
The smell of soup simmering on the stove is even better.
Thanks for the soup recipes girls. I can't believe A made so many different soups in one week.
And K with her yummy soup, it hard not to love a good homemade chicken soup!
but the winner is A, she defiantly went soup crazy check out all her recipes here
I even got inspired and made the potato and leek soup, it was so yummy I forgot to take photos of the finish product. I always love an easy recipe and one that you can alter too.
So I can finally pass the blog challenge baton on to you A, good luck.

another challenge - do I dare

Shall I set another challenge up, do I dare?
does anyone read this, not that I mind if you don't wipe tears,
considering I'm too busy reading all the other amazing blogs out there to even think of what to put on here or even to start with my reno jobs.

Well I'm setting a challenge for myself and for anyone that's reading this :)
Ive been thinking of making soup and we all know you can't beat your own mum's homemade soup. Trust me Ive tried to make her chicken and vegie soup but it just doesn't have that mum touch to it.

My challenge is to make a pot of soup this winter,
but doing it the easiest and yummiest way possible.
Hot homemade soup! Send in your best and easiest soup recipe!
We will all be winners with a handful of yummy soup recipes to try and the recipe'er (is that a word) gets to set the blog challenge,
lets hope we get some soup recipes..
cause im getting hungry typing this.

Before and After - Lamps

Well I think the challenge was set too high, considering school holidays, people off enjoying warmer weather else where and just curyling up on the couch in front of a fire.
Oh well, still feel free to come up with a before or after.
I finish my challenge I set myself after seeing this Lamp, I thought I want make some for our bedroom, but first I try it on a mini lamp which I've had since i was 12yr old.
It worked and oh so easy too,
It took less then 1 hour to finish the job and that included waiting for the paint to dry!
Now to do the bigger lamps...
